Hair of the Dog? Can what caused the problem cure it…?

Sunk by YouTube rants on radio which cost Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen his World Record Breaking payday he has picked on another social media medium to restore his fortune.

@CharlieSheen is now the new Twitter King sinking the world record holder of the fastest growing account after his decision to join twitter resulted in a million followers virtually overnight with a further .7 million since it was created on the 1st March.

His meltdown on air hit a wider audience when the radio interview was posted to youtube. His outburst against Chuck Lorre, the creator of his television show Two and Half Men, not only cost him his lucrative television show but also resulted in the removal of his children by the local authorities.

The loss of his million dollar paydays could be replaced by endorsements for products on twitter with plenty of potential for his wild living lifestyle, there are already promoted tags coming up for him! I am not sure I would want to be managing his social media account though, at those kind of numbers you are looking at a full time job to keep up…

Shot to pieces by one social media medium, this celebrity has chosen another to shoot him back to stardom… only time will tell if his twitter antics will put him back as a tinseltown victor or destroy him completely… however the publicity it has generated has opened doors for him.

Whatever the outcome it will be celebrity social media fodder for those listening for some time to come, especially as he has quickly grasped some of the twitter concepts such as hashtags, picking on #winning and is already topping the trending charts.

This is not a strategy we would recommend for all but the very foolhardy or clever or those twitterati you cannot control. There are better ways of getting contracts and collaborators on twitter.
