Isn’t it time we used #socialmedia to do some good?

We chat, share, have some fun, meet new people, search for stuff, find people and places and do all manner of things on-line we would normally have had to do in person only 10 years ago… so how about actually helping some people who may not have time for or acess to an on-line world… on our doorstep… well OK at least in the UK

I have just taken a diversion to see fabulous friends in Newcastle (said with a hard ‘a’ like in hat) and they shared with me how they are gradually transforming an old working men’s club in to a church with meeting rooms and play areas… here is the link

Now I haven’t seen this yet… but have no doubt I will… but given neither of these two lovely people are in the best of health, to give every spare moment they have and still work ridiculously hard is testament to just what fabulous people they are.  I know they work silly hours because we shared them laptop on knee… couldn’t summon up the energy to have more than 1 glass of wine and didn’t even raid the fridge…  Now normally I turn in to a pumpkin at midnight so will climb in to my bed before then… but we managed to agree that days should only have 1′o’clock once whilst awake as we watched a second one tick by…  To be fair we had actually had some fun playing with some centrepieces for a few hours but it was still a long day!

Now this place is up near Gateshead and Newcastle… so if anyone reading is in that area they would absolutely appreciate help for the growing group they are amassing… I know they are working on an entrance, have just ordered new chairs and have loads of stuff to do… so if you are someone with skills to share that could help them with floors, walls, painting, decorating, building or anything you can pssibly think of to transform this space in to a fabulous fully functioning community haven… then I am sure they would be delighted…

Or maybe you work for someone who has stuff they could use… like kitchen stuff or decorating or a soft play area for the kids… dig deep in your contacts and see who you know!

I am sure they would be very welcoming and delighted to see you too.. and after all it is Easter… so why not go see them tomorrow

Feel free to broadcast this as far as you can :-)
