When your best friend becomes your worst enemy – YouTube rants…

There is always an element of risk with everything that you do, even walking across the road. And social media is no different… however just because you are not watching or listening to what is being said about you or your company… does not mean that no one is talking about you and you should really consider getting a google alert to listen on-line…

I bet these high profile celebrities wished we were not in such an instant world… Charlie Sheen‘s public meltdown is reported to have cost him his place as one of the highest paid actors on television…. this rant on YouTube was not his best day…. Charlie Sheen’s radio rant.

However actor Christian Bale didn’t seem to suffer as he scooped an Oscar for his role in the The Fighter despite this rant at the director of the Terminator… An oscar winner despite this mega rant…

Social media is all about getting seen… being in the right place at the right time… more of the time and interacting with those around you… this means there will be some risk, cos let’s face it no everyone is nice and soetime syour customers can be a real pain… we are also human so things can happen. Just be careful and manage your social media carefully. Be careful about what you are saying on-line and which forums you are posting on… what it is you are saying and about whom and… don’t say anything on-line you would not say to someone in person… just normal social etiquette really.

If you do end with negative things being said on-line, at least you have a right to reply (or even remove) which is far better than ignoring it… and you have the opportunity to show your side of the story and turn it around… by the way your digital footprint can stay around for a very long time… so before you commit to posting… count to 5… read it and think “Do I really want this out there”… then amend it and post… you have cleared the fog from your brain just by committing it to somewhere else so… why leave a comment you may later regret?
