Yes you can separate work and pleasure on facebook…

can you mix business with pleasure...?

Separating business from friends on facebook really isn’t hard… a few simple tweaks and off you go!

The best place to start is use lists… the easiest thing is a work and a friends/family list… people can be in more than one so have an organising session and get them in some semblance of order… it’s actually a very simple process in your own personal account.

So here we go!  Go to your friends tab…

Click on edit friends…

Change the click down to view all friends and you see them in alphabetical order.  I have had a few panicky emails when the default has been recently interacted and people thought their friends had vanished… they hadn’t…

but you have other options if you fancy using them...

Create your list and they appear on the left hand side…

Get in to the habit of adding new contacts to your lists as you add them… it makes your admin much easier…

?Add more than one person to a list and get really organised…

So now when I post my updates…. I can say who to with this clever technique… just under the status bar pick custom…

and… you can hide it from people you don’t want to see it… or just show it to those you do… so if it is family and friends pick specific people and the correct list…

Pick the lists you want to send your update to using specific people… you can even hide it from someone just by naming them underneath…

So now you can post your holiday pics and not worry your business colleagues see them… pretty cool huh?
